Before: China is on my mind

By 23 June 2009 No Comment

My imagination runs elated as each day approaches to head over to China. It will be my first visit to the country. However, my journey will go beyond taking the routine pictures and enjoying the cuisine. I hope to observe the society with an open mind and be able to capture aspects of it to later share. The language barrier will be an obstacle but it is something I look forward to overcome with some help. Since I was young, it was my dream to explore the world. Now that I have a chance to report this mystifying ancient nation I hope to capture its people and create a connection from the reader to the country. I am especially interested in the younger generation of China. As the country grows in every aspect, the younger generation’s interests and beliefs will give an important insight of what the future holds. I would like to follow a young self-made socialite. As well as to interview a newly graduated college student from the city that must return to the countryside. The story possibilities seem endless. As I trek the roads of the country with my reporters notebook and pencil in hand I will try my best to report China.
